Under new management, the same people that run Ferns Kai Waka (Usually seen at events like the Hawera Winter Festival, markets etc) Their burgers and other fast food items are very popular and often sell out fast. They also sell desserts like cheesecake and trifle. I HIGHLY recommend this takeaway shop, call ahead and order prior to arriving as they're quite popular This is a steak&egg burger (I asked for no salad) a cheesecake and hot chips with a battered sausage. Super fresh and always yummy fish and chips. The smorgasbord looks interesting too, with a much fresher and interesting varsity including dim Sim that you normally don't see

Great staff, chips and sausage were amazing but fish was very over cooked and rubbery. Not saying anything bad because everything else was good but yeah sorry fish was inedible.

Really clean fish and chips - clean oil. Potato fritters on the small side but nice and thick and an extra chucked in.

Staff was friendly when we took a long shot on asking if their chips were cooked in a dedicated fryer, and gluten free. He was helpful and explained they only cook the gf chips and gf sausages and if you want a gf corn fritter then that too in the fryer, so I was quite happy to get to have my chip buddy that I'd been craving a while! (Home made just does not hit the same) * Ordered 2 scoops chips, 2 sausages, 1 corn fritter and a 1.5L drink.
